Hey there!!!! Remember when Covid hit us? The world became hybrid and remote. Employers were looking for new ways to get jobs done. They were searching for way to satisfy the employees as well as meet the company’s goals and ensure profit was made. That caused a great deal of anxiety amongst employees and during that time, employers had to find new ways of not only getting the business goals completed, but also, they had to dig to find new ways of keeping employees calm while they also had to struggle to handle their personal lives and we managed didn’t we?
During that time – the terms “Work / Life Balance” evolved.
Table These Questions If You Please…………………………
How do you find Work and Life Balance?
Who’s within Your circle of Friends?
When you pull up to a table, who comes to sit with you?
Or when you walk around, who do You choose to sit with?
You’ll find a time in your life when you come to realize that your circle must be small in order to find balance. At times, work and life balance must marry one another and during other times, it those twins must intertwine.
I want to provide 3 different Solutions to those 3 questions that are on this platform for you to take a few moments in your quiet time to Ponder:
1. Realize that your co-workers are not your friends. You are at that job to exceed the employer’s expectations. That’s it. Nothing more nothing less – as long as you meet that goal – you will at least meet their expectations. Those of you like me who may struggle with ADHD at times, you can still make those goals. Take your meds without shame or drink your coffee — whatever makes YOU happy and go to work! At least do the job that’s been asked of you and everything else, will be looked at as “EXTRA CREDIT”.
2. Know what questions to ask – if you’re in the insurance business, then ask relatable questions. If you’re in banking and finance – ask questions that relate to mortgage products, processing or making decisions that will allow you to reach your financial goals.
3. Know when to ask the questions – In professional settings, you must learn to read the room that you find yourself walking into. You would never just walk into a room and shout out your questions or walk into a room and answer the question on the table without being invited. Who saw the movie, “Sinners?” If you did, remember the part when the heavy guy – Omar Benson Miller who had the character of “Cornbread”, walked outside of the home – and allowed himself to be lured into the crowd of Vampire’s? Then, he had the nerve to try and return to the home and people that he was a part of. The interesting part was that he was NOT invited in. Therefore, he was not allowed into the home that he once was a part of. You would never just walk into a room that you are not invited into. The character in the movie walked outside and left the family home and once he did that, whatever was outside of the family home got onto him. It infiltrated his aura. Once he did that, he could NOT be invited back in or he would have infuriated, frustrated, eliminated the family with the same evil that he found when he left. The message for this item is to: ”
Always learn to read the room you are walking into before Entering.
